John Recorvitz, 101, previously of Gold Mine Road, Glocester, passed peacefully Monday, February 29, 2016 at The Holiday Retirement Home in Lincoln. He was the husband of Helen (Szpak) Recorvitz. They had been married for 73 years.
Born in Manville, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Sydor) Recorvitz. He lived mostly in Central Falls before moving to Chepachet in 1995. He was a furniture finisher for local stores and retired from Linda Furniture in 1977. Fishing was his passion as well as swimming, bowling, and other outdoor activities.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of VFW, Post 1271, Central Falls.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons: John Recorvitz III and his wife Donna, of Ocala Florida and Michael Recorvitz and his wife Mary Ann of Chepachet, four grandsons: Michael, Jason, Jared and Justin, and 2 great grandchildren.
A Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
