WESTPORT… Walenty P. Dawicki, 72 of Westport passed away February 29th at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.
He was the widower of Mary E. (Bryan) Dawicki to whom he was married for 40 years.
Born in Chelsea, MA, he was a son of the late Walter and Stella (Olszewska) Dawicki. He moved to Westport in 1972 where he spent the remainder of his life.
Mr. Dawicki worked as a Mechanic for the United States Postal Service for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed going to Foxwoods, spending time with his family and his cat.
Survivors include 2 daughters; Cynthia Holewiak and her husband Michael of Somerset and Laurie Cabral and her husband Thomas of Tiverton, 2 sons; Peter Dawicki of Westport and Daniel Dawicki and his wife Emily of ME, 5 sisters; Caroline Dawicki of Fall River, Mary Dawicki of FL, Patricia Dawicki of Fall River, Doloretta Dawicki of Franklin and Laura McCree of Fall River, 2 brothers; Stanley Dawicki of Fall River and Frank Dawicki of Marlborough, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Rose Dawicki and Joseph Dawicki.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, March 3rd at 7PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-7 PM prior to the service.
