Lillian Jeannette (Mayo) Morin, 79, of 152 Old Lakeshore Road died on Thursday evening, June 23, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family.
Lillian was the daughter of the late Alfred and Anita (Savard) Mayo. She was born on July 17, 1925 and had been a lifelong resident of Laconia and Gilford.
Lillian was a graduate of Laconia High School class of 1944. She then went onto Notre Dame School of Nursing in Manchester graduating in 1947.
Lillian enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Supervisor retiring from the Laconia State School in 1980 after 22 years of employment.
Lillian was an active member of Our lady of the Lakes Church in Lakeport for many years where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Notre Dame Nurse’s Association. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, reading, and spending winters with her family in Hawaii and California.
Lillian was predeceased by her infant daughter, Ann Mary in 1956, and by one sister Irene Leroux.
Lillian is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roger J. Morin of Gilford, three sons, David Morin and his wife Natividad of Honolulu, Hawaii, James Morin of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Stephen Morin and his wife Alison of Gilford. One daughter, Susan Perreira and her husband Douglas of Fremont, California Six grandchildren, Susan Tolentino, Derwin Palacpac, and Christina Pintor all of Honolulu, Hawaii, Kyle Perreira of Fremont, California, and Peter and Spencer Morin both of Gilford. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport at 11:00 a.m., Rev. George J. Soberick pastor of the church celebrated the mass. A visitation period preceded the mass from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend. Burial took place following cremation in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
