BELMONT - Robert D. Hodgson Sr., 88, of 22 Maple Hill Drive, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord after a long illness.
He was born on February 21, 1928 in Ballston Spa, NY, the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Eva (Williams) Hodgson. He attended Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Schools and was a graduate of Burnt Hills High School. Robert was an outstanding basketball player and was inducted in 2015 into the school's hall of fame. Robert worked as a tool and die maker for General Electric in Schenectady, NY, retiring after 25 years. He also worked for Baron Machine and Tangnet Tool in Laconia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy (Heritage) Hodgson of Belmont, six children; Linda Labounty and her husband Lenny of Ballston Spa, NY, Robert D. Hodgson Jr. and his wife Debbie of Ballston Spa, NY, Lisa Souliere and her husband Roger of Elko, NV, Tami Perkins and her husband David of Westerly, RI, John Wiley and his wife Kara of Alton and Amanda Ouellette and her husband Dan of Laconia, one brother, Joseph W. Hodgson of Laconia, one sister-in-law, Shirley Hodgson of Davenport, FL, eighteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers; Thomas W. Hodgson Sr and John "Jack" Hodgson.
As per Bob's request, there will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be private.
