R. Beverly Dwyer, a longtime Woburn resident passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Winchester Hospital following a very brief illness. She was 84 years of age. Beverly was the beloved wife of the late George L. Dwyer. Born in Cambridge she was the daughter of the late Warren R. and Ruth O. (Elliott) Corwin.
Beverly was raised and educated in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She worked for many years with the Puritan Bennett Company, formerly of Woburn and Wilmington, where she assembled life support equipment that the company manufactured. In her leisure time she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, knitting and was an avid collector of hummels. Mostly devoted to her family, Beverly was a talented cook and nothing gave her more joy than to spend time with her family and being surrounded by those she loved.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Beverly is sadly predeceased by her daughter, Karen Canada, and her brother, Russell Corwin.
Beverly is survived by her devoted children; Janice Plummer and her husband Earl of Billerica, James Dwyer of Worcester, Tricia Lawson of Woburn, son-in-law Gerald Canada of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Kristy Russell, Kevin Canada, Janelle and Frankie Plummer, Jessica Walsh, Steven, Justin and David Dwyer. Loving great grandmother of Eyan, Jaden, Kaleb, and Addison Russell, Gianna Attanasio, Noah Canada, Dylan Walsh, and Skyler Vega - Bejune.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, March 2nd, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 5 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Beverly's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
