Jeanette E. Whitmire Washington, 56, of Ashburn passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Morris Gaines officiating. Mrs. Washington will be laid to rest at Sumner Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 1, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Cody Peacock, Lee Marchant, Wayne Marchant, Thomas Wade and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 27, 1959 in Bartow, Florida, Mrs. Washington was the daughter of the late General Albert Whitmire and Sarah Townsend Whitmire. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Whitmire. She was the unofficial photographer for Pruitt Health Care in Ashburn and a member of the River of Life Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Washington is survived by her husband, Shelton Gene Washington of Ashburn; a daughter, Jeannie Grier of Bartow, Florida; a sister, Bonnie Davis of Tifton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rhonda and Wayne Marchant of Sumner, Gail and Lee Marchant of Ty Ty and Lisa Washington of Tifton; and two grandchildren, Dalton Grier and Elizabeth Grier of Bartow, Florida.
