Christopher G. Gewlas age 89 of Canton passed away February 28th at the Norwood Hospital. Born in Woburn, he was raised in Boston and attended Boston Schools. He was a proud Navy Veteran of WW II and worked for many years as a Draftsman for Raytheon before retiring. Chris played the Tenor Saxophone in an orchestra for many years performing regularly at the YD Dugout in Canton and several other venues. Beloved husband of Dorothea J. (Kaltsos). Father of William “Billy” Gewlas of Wilmington, Diane Burke of Canton, Christopher Gewlas of Stoughton and the late James Gewlas. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Tuesday 4-8 pm. Funeral service at the Trinity Community Church 234 Walpole St. Norwood Wednesday morning at 10 am.
