Jeffrey T. “Jeff” Youngblood, 55, of Tifton, died Friday, February 26, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, February 29, 2016, at Christian Fellowship with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Jim Puckett will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Jeff was born August 20, 1960, in Cordele, Georgia, to Robert W. Youngblood of Fitzgerald and the late Audrey Moss Youngblood. A 1978 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, Jeff worked as a cutting room supervisor at Champion Sportswear. He managed Ben Hill Auto Parts as well as Bumper-to-Bumper in Fitzgerald and Waycross. He worked as a mechanic and hot-rod technician in his spare time. Jeff loved anything with a motor, the louder the better. He enjoyed “tinkering” with R/C cars and became a passionate enthusiast with racing them. Jeff was a huge presence in this world and has left a legacy to his friends and family of never giving up. He loved with all he had and lived life to the fullest. Jeff’s favorite pastimes were riding motorcycles, drag racing, visiting the mountains, and fishing.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kim Roberts Youngblood of Tifton; son, Dwayne & Ashley Youngblood of Fitzgerald; daughter, Brooke Youngblood, currently a student at Valdosta State; two grandchildren: Cameron Youngblood and Payne Youngblood; siblings and their spouses: Bob & Linda Youngblood, Shirley & David Watson, and Tony & Samantha Youngblood, all of Fitzgerald; Tammy McLeod of Douglas, and Chris & Laura Youngblood of Covington; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John David & Annette Roberts of Fitzgerald; sister-in-law, Denise Roberts of Ocilla; brother-in-law, Josh McClelland & Gina Thompson of Fitzgerald; multiple “daughters” & friends of Brooke whom he helped to raise; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Moss Youngblood.
