Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” B. Ganski, 66, longtime resident of Lakeville passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born in Michigan, he was the son of the late Bernard and Eileen Ganski. He was a beloved husband to Kathryn Ganski of 40 years and loving devoted father to Lauren Durant, Julie Oshiro, and Matthew Ganski; and father-in-law to Joe Durant and Mark Oshiro. He was an adoring “Bumpa” to his granddaughter, Brooklyn Durant. Larry is also survived by his identical twin brother Gerald Ganski, and older sisters, Cathie Basil and Cindy Scussel as well as many nieces and nephews. Larry was a talented “jack-of-all trades,” kind-hearted person who was always willing to help anyone and everyone. He found joy in working and was a Contracting Officer at Hanscom Air Force Base and an employee of the Home Depot. He was also a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1967-1971 including a tour in Vietnam. Larry was also an active member of the community during his life with involvement in Pop Warner Football, the Lakeville Lions Club, and the Lakeville Haunted House. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 27th at 11am at Holy Family Church in East Taunton with a short reception at the nearby Parish Center immediately following. Family and friends are welcome.
