Obituary

CHICOPEE – Jeannette Y. (Archambault) Labonte, 89, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, February 25, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at The Arbors in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home on Chicopee Street in the Willimansett section of Chicopee on September 8, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Arthur E. and Emilienne (Roy) Archambault. She was raised in Willimansett, graduated from the former Rosary High School in Holyoke and lived in Chicopee for most of her life. She furthered her education and graduated from the former Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse. She was a longtime communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett where she served her Parish as a longtime Eucharistic Minister and also was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality. Following the closing of her parish, she became a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Most of all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Henry F. Labonte who was Called Home on August 31, 2000. They were married on September 1, 1951 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 48 years of happiness together. She leaves her five loving children, Denise A. Pronovost and her husband, Francis, of Chicopee, Donald F. Labonte and his wife, Mary, of Cornelius, NC, Anne M. Wierciszewski and her husband, John, of Holyoke, Paul H. Labonte and his wife, Trina, of Agawam and David A. Labonte and his wife, Heather, of Granby; her ten cherished grandchildren, Karen Ruffner and her husband, James, Andrea King and her husband, Jonathan, Adam Labonte and his fiancée, Katie Short, Joanne Richards and her husband, Jason, Julie Bousquet and her husband, Matthew, Kyle Labonte, Ryan Labonte, Jessica Labonte, Spencer Labonte and Sophia Labonte; her two cherished great grandsons, Nathan King and Alexander Bousquet; her dear brother, Ernest Archambault and his wife, Janet, of Chicopee; her three dear sisters-in-law, Alice Marciniak and her husband, Joseph, and Doris Bienvenue, all of Chicopee, and Eleanor Plumadore of Southampton; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Labonte and Roy families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving grandson, Matthew Labonte who was Called Home on September 20, 1990; and her six dear sisters, Sister Emilienne Marie, PM, Sister Saint Marie Luce, PM, Doris Guyott, Rina Gaughan, Claire Hamel and Lucienne Pollender. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, March 1, 2016 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
