Obituary

HOLYOKE – William “Bill” Rudock, 87, a longtime resident of Holyoke, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, February 25, 2016. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on February 1, 1929, a beloved son of the late Sam and Parasha (Yamchewski) Rudock. He was raised in Montrose, Pennsylvania and moved to Holyoke in the early 1970’s. He was employed as a machinist for the former Adams Plastic Company in Holyoke and later worked part-time at the former Buckley Nursing Home in Holyoke. During his leisure time, Bill enjoyed bowling, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and an avid wrestling fan. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Stella P. (Lorraine) Rudock who was Called Home on April 14, 2000; his two sons, Bobby Rudock and Mark Rudock; and his nine siblings, Mary Rudock Knopick, John, Peter, Michael and Samuel Rudock, Esther Rudock Sheffler and Andrew, Harry and Frank Rudock. He leaves his former wife, Ida (O’Brien) Rudock Hanyon; and their children, Ricky Rudock, Gary Rudock and his wife, Pauline, Larry Rudock and his wife, Mary, Ann Marie Howell and Susan Reigel and her partner, Dennis Davenport; his daughter-in-law, Tanya Rudock; his step-children, Roxann M. Bradley and her husband, Michael, of Westfield, Paula J. T. Duhon and her husband, J. Pierre, of Becket, MA, Pauline A. McClaflin and her husband, Brian, of South Hadley and Thomas M. Tetreault of Holyoke; his brother, Jim Rudock and his wife, Marlene; his two sisters, Kate Wood and Nancy Stoll and her husband, Richard; several grandchildren; and his many dear nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition, he leaves Ida’s daughter, Shirley Bishop and her husband, Jim. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. to be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. His burial will follow the service at Saint Rose Cemetery, 226 Granby Road, South Hadley, MA 01075. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Holyoke VNA and Hospice Life Care, 575 Beech Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
