Janice Lucille Kem, 78, of Anderson died on February 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her children following a 3 year battle with cancer.
She was born on July 10, 1937 in Anderson to Harry O. and Margurite (Russell) Armstrong.
She was a graduate of Anderson High School. She attended Central Wesleyan Church. She was the department manager of Kmart for 25 years and in the receiving department at Elder-Beerman for 5 years.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, and caring for other people and animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Rodney) Hudson of Anderson; a son, James R. (Leigh) Kem Jr. of Aurora, IN; 4 grandchildren, Donnie Cates of Anderson, Kevin (Jodi) Kem of Burlington, KY, Kirsten (Ritch) Greco of Hebron, KY, and Chelsea (fiancé', Mitch Robinson) Kem of Alexandria, KY; a brother, John Armstrong of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James R. Kem Sr. in 2001; a sister, Juanita Armstrong; and 3 brothers, Jim, Herb, and Harry Armstrong.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, February 29, 2016 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service on Monday.
