Obituary

WAYLAND: Eva E. (Terio) Hagar, 93, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Boston on December 26, 1922 the daughter of the late Donato Terio and Assunta (Acconcia) Terio.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, A. Bruce Hagar of Wayland. Loving mother of Allen B. Hagar, Jr. of Waltham; Patricia Ann (Hagar) Lozowicki of Wayland; Paul A. Hagar and his longtime companion Pamela Murphy both of Burlington, VT and Thomas E. Hagar of Wayland. Cherished grandmother of Michael J. Lozowicki; Paul S. Lozowicki and John A. Lozowicki all of Wayland. Sister of Joseph Terio of Wrentham and the late Sr. Joseph Clare, Sister of Charity of the Nazareth who died in March of 2007 and Samuel Terio who died in March of 2015. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Eva has been a resident of Wayland for over 47 years and previously resided in Waltham. She spent her formative years in Readville and was educated at St. Ann’s Parochial School. She graduated in 1940 from Hyde Park High School. She began her career as a bookkeeper with Hines Laundry in Brookline Village and was associated for over 16 years as a bookkeeper with Westinghouse in Boston.
She loved all Boston sports especially the Boston Bruins, games shows and in her earlier years, enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She enjoyed following intense conversations in regards to politics on a local, state and federal level. The most cherished aspect of her life was the devotion and love to her family and her grandsons. Eva had a deep rooted catholic faith which she lived each and every day and was a daily communicant of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wayland. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her care and love for them all and enjoyed cooking and baking for them and being their Mom.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 9:00 am followed by her Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Ann’s Church, 124 Cochituate Road (Rte 27) Wayland,
Interment will follow in the Hagar family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland.
