Walter A. Hutzal, age 67, of Fall River passed away on February 23, 2016 at Mass General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” (Soares) Hutzal, and son of the late Walter and Alzira “Elsie” (Pereira) Hutzal. Walter was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a supervisor for the incinerator and the Fall River Public Works. He was a gentle, quiet, and honest man who never had a harsh word to say about anyone, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son; Scott W. Hutzal, aunt; Evelyn Correia, uncle; Joe Pereira (wife Mary), mother-in-law; Dorothy Soares, chosen brother; Jim Camara, good friend; Joe Lucky, little one Hailey, grand dog Bella and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mass General Hospital for the wonderful care and support that they received while Walter was under their care.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Holy Name Church at 9 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Friday from 5-8 P.M.
