Abington – Lynn M. (Batson) Williams 43, a lifelong resident of Abington, died Tuesday February 23. She was the beloved wife of 23 years to Michael S. Williams.
Born in Brockton and raised in Abington she was the daughter of Carol (Merrill) of Brockton and the late Robert A. Batson and a graduate of Abington High School.
Lynn had been a familiar face in Abington, for over 18 years she had worked for the former Abington Cooperative Bank where she had served as the assistant head teller. In 2007 she changed her career and went to work as an insurance agent for Robert McDonough Insurance of Abington.
She loved spending time near the ocean and the Scituate Light House as well as enjoying her days spent at Castle Island on the coast Boston, but her greatest joy was watching her sons’ hockey games and the times spent with her family.
She was a supporter of the “Make-A-Wish Foundation” and had volunteered her time to help others.
In addition to her mother Carol and her husband Mike she is survived by her sons Michael and Joseph Williams of Abington, her sisters Barbara Young of Abington, Ann Marie Raymond of Brockton and Donna Batson of Halifax. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles Skip and Betsie Lerned of RI, Tom and Pattie Batson of Carver, James and Paulette Batson of Abington and Kathy Hynes of NH as well as her niece and several nephews. She also leaves behind her dear friends Julie Ruhr and Cathleen Bowden both of Abington.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday February 27 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be held Friday February 26 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
