Obituary

Timothy A. "Tim" Cullity, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford following an extended illness. He was 88 years old.

Tim was born in Boston on August 20, 1927, a son of the late Mary (Enright) Cullity and Bartholomew Cullity. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1946. Tim enlisted into the United States Army on November 2, 1945 and served his country faithfully during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 12, 1946 with the rank of Private. Tim worked for 20 years as a laborer for the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority and also for 20 years with Commercial Solvent in Charlestown. Tim enjoyed walking, listening to music and for many years could be seen hanging at the "corner" with his brothers. In his early years in Charlestown he played football with the Charlestown Townies, he was one of the original founders of Charlestown Little League and also coached Charlestown Youth Hockey. Tim enjoyed his quality time with his wife and 2 sons but took immense enjoyment watching his grandchildren grow and following their activities.

Tim is the beloved husband of 64 years to Mary B. "Dolly" (Page) Cullity. He is the devoted father of Timothy Cullity and Thomas Cullity and his wife Kathy. He is the loving Grandpa to Kerri and her husband Chris, Lauren and her husband Greg, Lindsey and her husband Derek, Patrick and his wife Madeline and his great-grandchildren Keagan and Evelyn. He is the brother of the late Rita Meli, Bart Cullity, Jack Cullity, Joseph Cullity, Tom Cullity, Buttons Cullity, James Cullity and Leo Cullity. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tim's Funeral on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. His visiting hours will be on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
