Bobby Eugene Sheffield. 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, February 22, 2016, at his residence in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, February 26, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Joel Owens and the Rev. Roswell Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Rhine, Georgia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6 to 8, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Sheffield was born July 26, 1944, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late Marvin Eugene Sheffield and the late Mary Ruth Holcom Sheffield Owens. He moved to the community in 1970 from Eastman and was a salesman for Pepsi Cola. Mr. Sheffield served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Sheffield loved fishing and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Barbara Jo Sheffield of Fitzgerald; children and their spouses: Terry Sheffield & Keva of Fitzgerald and Tammy S. Brooke & Bob of Sycamore; step-dad: Tommy Owens of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Corey & Courtney Brooke, Abby Brooke, Ty Brooke, Jessica Sheffield and Sarah Sheffield; brothers: Charlie Sheffield & Marie of Calvert, Texas and Gene Sheffield of Eastman; sisters: Melba Jean Spires of Taylorsville, Dianne Hodges & Jake of Cordele, Lori Wilcox & husband James and Rena Johnson, all of Eastman.
