Laconia-----Eunice E. Chase, 88, of 30 County Home Drive passed away peacefully at the Belknap County Nursing Home on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
Eunice was born on June 28, 1927 in Belmont the daughter of Otto and Daisy (Patten) Sawyer.
Eunice worked at Allen Rogers for many years before retiring to her home in Sanbornton where she spent her time sewing, crocheting many lovely afghans for family and friends as well as caring for young children who treated her as their own grandmother. In 1998 she moved to Lakebreeze Mobile Home Park in Gilford where she resided until August 2015. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Center and Dine Arounds where she had made many friends.
Eunice is survived by; two daughters, Priscilla Kaiser of Gilford and Mona Smith of Sanbornton; six grandchildren, Jesse Chase, of Boscawen, Tristen Chase and Cory Smith of Alexandria, Beau Chase, of Sanbornton, Greg Kaiser of Orlando, Florida and Chris Kaiser of Gilford; two step grandchildren, Niki Polish and Kyle Smith; five great grandchildren, Stephen Kaiser, Brayden Chase, Owen Smith, Arthur Smith and Hunter Chase and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ralph Clayton Chase who died in 2003, her three brothers, George Sawyer, James Sawyer and Fred Sawyer and a nephew James Sawyer Jr.
There will be no calling hours at her request.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Church of Latter Day Saints, Old North Main Street, Laconia.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 12:00 -Noon at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen NH.
