Edward Allen Smith, 75 of Derry, NH, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at his home.
He is survived by his children, Lisa and Guy Joyce of Derry NH, Patricia and Douglas Motter of Lancaster PA and Christine Blake and Steven Eosue of Chester NH, his grandchildren Naomi, Justin, Lauren, Rebekah, Faith, Hannah, Grace, Shannon and Nicole, Stephanie, Christopher, Nicole, and Schyler, his great grandchildren, cousins, family and friends.
Known to most as Ed or Grandpa Ed, he grew up in Ashland MA and worked for Prudential for 30 years as a computer programmer. He married and raised his 3 daughters in Medford MA, and after some travels thru Pennsylvania and Indiana, settled in NH. He loved his family, especially the furry ones, and was a loyal friend to many. Always ready with a joke or to lend a hand if needed. He never wanted your drink to be empty and would gladly toast to celebrate your accomplishments. He enjoyed sitting in the sun with a Dunkin’s iced coffee, going to the beach, camp in Wolfeboro, the dog park, working on his stained-glass, and just hanging with family and friends for a Patriots game or NASCAR race. We will remember him in our hearts forever.
Following cremation a Memorial Service was held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry at 2:00 pm. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the Memorial Service.
