John E. Bench, age 87, of Reading, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.
John was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Bench and was the uncle of Janet McDonald of Weymouth, Faith Hammer of NJ and David McDonald of Las Vegas and one other niece and nephews and cousins.
John was born in Everett, spent most of his life in Chelsea before moving to Reading 15 years ago.
He was a mail handler at South Postal Annex in Boston for 40 years.
Visiting Hours were held on Thursday, January 28 from 10 to 11 AM with the Funeral Mass immediately following at Saint Albert the Great Church, 1140 Washington St. Weymouth on Thursday at 11 AM. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Everett.
