Obituary

Christ sent his angels on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, to take Harold home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born into this world on Sept. 7, 1951. He was born of the heart to the late Harold and Doris Bryan. Harold grew up and lived in Brooklyn, NY for a large portion of his life. He worked at the Brooklyn Navy yard, which eventually brought him to New London where he spent many years working at EB.

After giving his life to God over 20 years ago, Harold became an active member at St. John’s Christian Church in Groton where he eventually worked his way up to becoming a Deacon of the church. He loved the word of God, and never hesitated to pass the word on to others. Harold always had a joke ready for any occasion, and he will always be remembered for his kind spirit and mentoring nature.

Harold’s life on Earth will always be remembered by many, especially his loving family. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Irma Bryan; sons, Harold Bryan Jr., Darrell Bryan, Raliek McLaughlin, Ishmael Bryan, Jerome Robinson; daughters Bernadine Bryan and Ratisha Singletary; two sisters Willalee Bryan and Marilyn Jones; and host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Christine Bryan and two sisters, Gladys Young and Deborah Bryan.

The family will begin to greet relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at 12 Noon on Monday, at St. John’s Christian Church, 346 Shennecossett Road, Groton.
Burial will be private for the family.
