Emma Jeannette Tatum Johnson, age 78, formerly of Water Valley, MS, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at her home in Huntsville, AL. She was born August 27, 1937 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late Webster and Nora Phillips Tatum. Jeannette was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling, cooking and taking care of her family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Jimmy Vance officiating. Burial will be in the Browning Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS with Dustin Johnson, Timothy Ray, Trent Hamilton, Derick Mills, Gene Johnson and Joseph Hindman serving as pallbearers.
Jeannette is survived by her husband of 58 years, Billy Johnson of Huntsville, AL; her daughter, Sharon (Randall) Clark of Huntsville, AL; her son, Dewayne (Tina) Johnson of Starkville, MS; her sisters, Vera Ann McReynolds of Gulfport, MS, and Kitsy Stracener of Huntsville, AL; her brother, Luther “Luke” (Linda) Tatum of Water Valley, MS; four grandchildren, Julie Hamilton, Dustin Johnson, Tiffany Ray and Timothy Ray; and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, G. L. Tatum.
