New Bedford – Angelina Frias, age 68 of Dartmouth, passed away, unexpectedly, on Sunday February 21, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Antero Frias and the daughter of the late Tiago and Maria Estrella (Medeiros) Raposa.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, Mrs. Frias came to this country in 1969 and worked as a Seamstress for Madeira Twin Fashions until her retirement. She was also a member of the Holy Ghost Society of Westport.
Her family includes 2 children: Philomena Maria Frias of Dartmouth and James M. Frias and his wife, Tami, of Lakeville; grandson, Matthew J. Frias; brother Alberto Pereira of St. Michael; companion, Luis Tavares Torres of Dartmouth; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She is predeceased by a brother, Martin Raposa.
Her funeral will be Thursday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening from 5 – 7 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
