Eileen Syron Brown passed away at her home in Boston on Saturday, February 20 at the age of 84. Eileen was predeceased in death by her parents Martin and Bridget O'Connor Syron. Eileen is survived by John S. Brown her devoted husband of 55 years; her three children, son Kevin Brown and wife Cathleen Ryan of Arlington, VA; daughter Mary Mitchell and husband Robert of Winchester, MA; son Michael S. Brown of Boston and granddaughter Keira Mitchell. Eileen was born in New York City on May 29, 1931. She was raised in Ireland. She graduated from the Ursuline Convent School in Thurles, Ireland, the nursing schools at the Richmond Hospital and Rotunda Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Framingham State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. She served in the United States Navy Nurse Corps in Portsmouth, VA where she met her husband. She was last employed as a nurse at Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center in Boston. There will be a funeral mass at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 18 Belvidere St., Boston on Saturday, February 27 at 10:00 am.
