Eugene Bellflower, 92, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, February 22, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer and the Rev. Joel Shirley officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Bellflower was born October 10, 1923, to the late Pate & Martha Ella Heath Belflower. He spent his career working for Piggly Wiggly Southern at the Napier Avenue store in Macon. Mr. Bellflower worked for over 40 years in various capacities at this location. He loved people and people loved him. He also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Earlene Brockington of Fitzgerald, Martha & Jimmy Griswold of Fitzgerald, and Danny & Terri Belflower of Bolingbroke; grandchildren: Scott & Heather Tyson, Susan Cook, Sonja & Scott Morris, Johanna & Tommy Davis, Jr., and Taylor & Brittany Belflower; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Batts Bellflower and five brothers and sisters.
