Obituary

John Joseph Souza passed away peacefully at his Medford home in the company of his loving family. He was 92. Raised in Somerville, John served in the US Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge and return home, John worked for the US Post Office until his retirement. A Medford resident for 30 years, he was a quiet man who was devoted to his family and friends.

The devoted son of the late Manuel and Mary (Camacho) Souza, he was a dear brother of Joseph Souza and his wife Betty, Frank Souza and his wife Susan, Katheryn Johnson and her husband Walter, the late Mary Van Deusen, Anna Costa, Manuel Souza, Claire LaGambina, Cecelia Jennings and his late sister and care-taker Loretta Harrington. He is also survived by his loving niece Nancy Rogers and her husband Sgt. Lawrence Rogers, MPD and many other dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday morning, February 23 from 10 to 11:30 with a service in the funeral home at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in John’s name to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143.
