Shirley J. (Nichols) LeTendre, 80, of New Bedford, died February 19, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Peter J. LeTendre.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Francisco and Julia (Lomba) Nichols, she lived in New Bedford all of her life and enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years.
Mrs. LeTendre was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
She loved to paint, read, and take care of her family. She was a kind soul who never had a bad word to say about anyone.
She is survived by five daughters, Karen Sonne of Fairhaven, Catherine Perry of Assonet, Carole Kelley, Sharon Steliga, and Lisa LeTendre, all of New Bedford; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Peter John LeTendre, Jr.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 10 AM.
