SPRINGFIELD – Mary V. “Ronnie” Foley, 72, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, February 20, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Home surrounded by her wonderful caregivers and all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on September 30, 1943, a beloved daughter of the late John J. and Mary E. (Chambers) Foley. She was raised on Governor Street in Springfield, graduated from the former Technical High School and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was last employed at the New England Telephone Company in Springfield and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a longtime communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield and now a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church in East Springfield where she was a member of their Women’s Guild. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving brother, John M. Foley. She leaves her devoted cousins, Patricia L. Salvas and her family and Marie A. Pervonga and her family; and her dear close friend, Anne McIntyre. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour on Thursday morning, February 25, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107 which will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, East Springfield, MA 01104. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
