Nancy J. O’Donnell, 67

Dateline: North Attleboro, MA

Nancy J. (Mathews) O’Donnell, age 67, of North Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Gael M. O’Donnell.
Born in Quincy, MA on June 6, 1948, she was a loving daughter of Ruth (Hayden) Mathews of Mansfield and the late Walter Mathews, Sr.
Nancy grew up and was educated in North Quincy. She was a graduate of North Quincy High School and furthered her education; graduating with an associates degree from the Pierce Secretarial School.
A resident of North Attleboro for the past 14 years, Mrs. O’Donnell had most recently worked as an accounts payable clerk at Rolls Royce Marine in Walpole, and had previously been employed at Covidien in Mansfield and also at Milton Hospital.
Nancy’s family was the focal point of her life. She especially treasured the times spent with her grandchildren, which included serving as a co-leader for her granddaughters Girl Scouting Troop. She also enjoyed camping with her family, especially at Echo Lake in Rhode Island.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her devoted daughters Kelliann Bachand and her husband Scott of North Attleboro and Stacy M. Kelley and her husband James of Pawtucket. She was the dear sister of Walter Mathews, Jr. and his wife Bette of Springdale, Arkansas, Janis McGue of Mansfield, William Mathews and his wife Vickie of Springdale, Arkansas, Deborah Hawes and her husband Steven of Mansfield, Charles Mathews and his wife Teresa of Henderson, Nevada and Carol Mathews of San Antonio, Texas. She was the cherished grandmother of Hannah, Mary Kate, William and Noah, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, February 25th at 11:00 A.M. in the Central Congregational Church, 115 Commonwealth Ave., Attleboro Falls. Burial will follow at 1:15 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Nancy with a donation in her memory made to the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England, Attleboro Service Unit, 15 4th St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
