John J. Kennedy, 62, of Londonderry, NH passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in NY on May 3, 1953, a son of Matthew and Veronica (McGuire) Kennedy. John grew up in Rockaway Beach, NY and later settled to raise his children in Pennsylvania and eventually New Hampshire. A self-made and loyal man, John became employed with Allied Maintenance in 1975 and continued on with the company through its many iterations leading up to its current standing as Cushman-Wakefield where John was Vice President of Technical Operations and Support. John was an avid reader and also enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing, skiing and cycling. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and especially for his selflessness. First and foremost John was a family man; his greatest joy was his children and grandchildren, he always took great care to spend as much time as he could with all of them.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Leslie (Deutsch) Kennedy; four children, Christina Kennedy and her husband Barry Hicks of Plymouth Meeting, PA , Cortney Landry and her husband Dan of Sandown, NH, Corbin Kennedy of Epping, NH, and Colin Kennedy of Salem, MA; five grandchildren; Caden Landry, Charlise Landry, Cohen Landry, Brady Hicks and Nathan Hicks. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Veronica, Mary, Matthew, Ellen, Clare and Kevin, and predeceased by his brother Patrick.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. Jude’s Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Home for Little Wanderers, 10 Guest St. 3rd Floor, Brighton, MA, www.thehome.org. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium are assisting the family with the arrangements.
