Jeanne M. (Oatway) Gaudette, a 30 year resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge following an extended illness. She was 82 years old.
Jeanne was born in Boston on December 3, 1933, a daughter of the late Henry A. Oatway and Helen F. (Daley) Oatway. She grew up in Dorchester where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Girls High School. Jeanne worked for over 18 years as a Proof Operator for Bank of America. She enjoyed playing bingo and socializing at the Golden Age Center in Charlestown. Most of all in Jeanne's life was her family and the quality time she cherished with each one of them.
Jeanne is the devoted mother of Bill Gaudette and his wife Sandra of Boynton Beach, Florida, Kim Gaudette of Nashua, New Hampshire, Debra Henson and her husband Reggie of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Patti Gaudette of St. Mary's, Georgia, Leah Hamilton and her husband David of Apopka, Florida and Michele Gaudette of Fall River. She is the loving Nana to Craig, Alex, Janelle, Christopher, Michael, Nicholas, Nadia, April, Michael, Mark, Laura, Marissa and her great-grandsons Michael Patrick and Alex Jr. She is the beloved sister of John Oatway and his wife Mary of Tarpon Springs, Florida and the late Helen Buckley, Richard Oatway and Henry Oatway.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jeanne's Funeral on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
