FALL RIVER… Alice H. (Hubert) Guillemette, 94, of Fall River passed away February 19, 2016 at Southpointe Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation.
She was the widow of Rene A. Guillemette.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Angela (Cote) Hubert and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Guillemette was a communicant of St. Bernadette’s Parish (the former Notre dame de Lourdes Church). She worked as an Inspector at the former Berkshire Hathaway Mills for 25 years before retiring in 1969. She volunteered in the soup kitchen at the former St. Patrick’s Church for 20 years and at the former Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home until it closed. She enjoyed writing songs, playing guitar, singing and loved going out to eat and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a her daughters, Alice A.M. White of Westport and Michelle D. Torres of Fall River, her sons, Rene Guillemette, Jr of Fall River, Paul Guillemette of Fall River and Richard Guillemette of New Bedford, a sister, Rita Russell of FL, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Yvonne Platt, Jeannette Chagnon, Marion St. Martin, Roland, Arthur, Lucien, Henry, Edward, George, Eugene and Gerald Hubert.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 6 - 8 PM.
