WAREHAM – William Silvia, age 87, formerly of Fall River, passed away on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at the Forest-View Nursing Care Center. He was the husband of the late Caroline (Costa) Silvia and the son of the late Lawrence C. & Maria (Perry) Silvia. Prior to retiring in 2001, Bill worked at Rothechild Mfg. as a Dept. Head of Maintenance for 22 yrs. and previously for Slater Box Co. for 27 yrs.
He is survived by his 3 sons: William L. Silvia of Tiverton, Lawrence C. Silvia of Taunton, and Thomas K. Silvia of Fall River; 2 sisters: Dorothy “Dot” Swage of Fall River & Angelina “Annie” Alvey of Indiana; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Idalina Mello, Irene Bowler, Seraphine Silvia & Donatilda “Tilly” Mendes.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church at 11:00 A.M. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours Monday 4-7 P.M.
