NATICK: Marie Antonette (Viafora) Ofria, age 83, a former longtime resident of Natick and Hyannis, died at home in Hopkinton on February 16, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late C. Charles Ofria.
Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Benjamin J. and Charlotte (Gori) Viafora, Marie was raised and educated in Dorchester. She and Charles were married and lived briefly in Randolph and Dorchester prior to settling in Natick. Marie created and maintained home for her family. She loved to cook and was happiest when her family was together for a meal, particularly at holiday time.
Marie worked part-time for several years with Sun Life in Wellesley. After Charles retired, they moved to the Cape and split their time between Hyannis and Largo, Florida, for ten years. They enjoyed travel, visiting England and making a number of trips to Italy. Marie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Predeceased by Charles in 2010, she is survived by their children, John Ofria, Diane Ofria and her fiancé Raymond Richard, Paul Ofria and his wife Victoria, Kenny Ofria and his wife Heidi, and Lynne Ofria; grandchildren Timothy McNamara, Kristen and Casey Wolsiefier, Bryan and Jacqueline Schofield, Leah Morgan, Francesca, Christiano and Amilia Ofria, and Conor and Erin Dugas; and two great-grandchildren, Corriana and Alexandria Schofield.
Her funeral will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Monday, February 22nd at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Holy Hood Cemetery, Brookline.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday, 2 – 5PM.
