Douglas "Doug" Wade Nighelli, formerly of Somerville, MA, passed away on Wednesday, February 10th in Tewksbury, MA. He was 55 years old.
Born in Robstown, Texas, Doug was a cherished son of the late Dominic and Elizabeth (Orsak) Nighelli.
Doug attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in a Construction Management program. He worked as a Superintendent for NEI General Contracting and recently completed a large renovation at a nursing facility in Ohio. Doug loved to fish whenever he had the opportunity and was a fan of the Patriots and Bruins.
Doug was the beloved fiancé of Lori Brown of Tewksbury, MA. He was the devoted father of Kimberlee Nighelli of Seattle, WA and Domenic Nighelli of Boston, MA, whom he shared with former spouse, Patricia Nighelli Guenard. He was the dear brother of Richard Nighelli of Atkinson, NH and the nephew of James Nighelli and his wife Norma of Somerville, MA. He was the caring uncle of Melissa MacArthur of Manchester, NH, Natasha, Neena and Nick Pyzocha, all of New Boston, NH.
A graveside service will be conducted at Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Road, Medford, on Tuesday, March 1st at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Monday, February 29th from 4 through 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Douglas’ name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
