Obituary

Beverly Ann (Smith) Ryerson – age 76, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away at home on February 17, 2016, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 56 years of William T. “Bill” Ryerson.

Born in Boston, Beverly was raised and educated in Winchester, and was a graduate of Winchester High School. For many years, Mrs. Ryerson was a real estate broker in Winchester, practicing with several of the Winchester real estate offices, most recently with Coldwell Banker Hunneman & Company.

In Winchester, Beverly enjoyed volunteering with and participation in many local community events, including the annual Winton Club Cabaret, the En Ka Society’s annual street fair and the Friends of Winchester Hospital.

In her spare time, Beverly enjoyed playing bingo at St. Mary’s Church, the Winchester Sons of Italy and at the South End Club. Her husband, Bill, also touted the great cooking and baking skills she learned from her mother, and how she enjoyed hosting family holidays at home. Beverly also liked to play golf and loved trips to the Cape and taking cruises.

In addition to her husband, Beverly leaves behind her children: Karen Ryerson of Beverly, Nancy Ryerson of Salem and William T. Ryerson, Jr. of Winchester. She was the dear grandmother of Jeremy, Nicholas and Sara.

Funeral Services are private. Interment will be in the columbarium at Wildwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beverly’s memory may be made to the Winchester Hospital Foundation, 41 Highland Ave., Winchester, MA 01890.
