Julio Sarno, 89, of Derry, NH passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home, Derry. He was born on October 28, 1926 in Somerville, MA, a son of the late Carmino and Esther (Demarco) Sarno. Mr. Sarno resided in Derry for 7 months, formerly living in Wakefield, MA for over 50 years. He was a devout Catholic who regularly attended Mass. He enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun Casino.
He is survived by his four children, Elaine Bailey of Auburn, NH, Joseph Sarno of Weare, NH, Carol Nestor of Londonderry, NH and Anthony Sarno of Derry, NH, ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ann L. (Berardi) Sarno in July 2015.
Following cremation, a Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10:00am in St. Matthew’s Church, 2 Searles Road, Windham, NH. Burial will be at later date in the Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
