Joan L. (Piascik) Wilhelm, 88, of Medway, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Maryann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick. She was the beloved wife of Mitchell A. Wilhelm who passed away in 2005.
Born in Medway on November 15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Helena (Macko) Piascik.
Mrs. Wilhelm was a lifelong resident of Medway and graduated from Medway High School in 1945.
A homemaker for most of her life, she worked at Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham before having her children.
Mrs. Wilhelm loved Polka music, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking. She also loved traveling with her husband, sister and brother-in-law.
She is survived by a son, Stanley J. Wilhelm of Medway, a daughter, Helena J. Wilhelm-Burke of Peabody and five grandchildren, Daniella and Mitchell Wilhelm, Bradley and Garret Burke and Lauren Novick.
She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Morgan Burke, Bradley Burke, C.J. Novick and Maddison Burke as well as a sister, Loretta Rudnicki and her husband Henry of Medway.
Joan was predeceased by her brothers, Boleslaw and Chester Piascik, and sister, Stella Piascik, all of Medway.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Monday, February 22 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m.
