Obituary

Robert J. “Bob” Poliquin, 83, of Herbert Street, Greenville, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Audrey (Stevenson) Poliquin for 58 years.
Born in Riverside, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Rose (Schauble) Poliquin. He had lived in Smithfield for fifty-five years. He served in the 45th Infantry Division under General Taylor in the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star.
Bob had worked for Westcott Construction Company for 33 years before retiring. He was a life member of Local #94 United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union. He was a past member of the East Warren Rod & Gun Club, one of the founders of the Smithfield Boys’ Club where he served on the Board of Directors. He was an avid fisherman and loved boating. He was a communicant of St. Philip Church and St. Thomas Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Timothy R. Poliquin and his wife, Brenda of Jacksonville, FL, Scott W. Poliquin of Greenville, a daughter, Suzanne A. Ferrante and her husband, Michael of Johnston, his three grandchildren: Rebecca Mele, Samantha Poliquin and Michael Ferrante and a brother Wilfred H. Poliquin of Smithfield. He was the brother of the late Loretta T. Horton.
A Celebration of his Life will be held February 26, 2016 at 11am in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Rt 44 at Rt 116, Greenville. Visitation 9-11am in the ANDERSON-FUNERAL WINFIELD Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
