TEWKSBURY: Mary Ann (Morrison) Donovan, age 71, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
Born in Somerville on September 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Sarah J. (Nolan) Morrison.
Mary Ann graduated from Somerville High School in 1963. She later attended Elite Health Care for Nursing, where she received certification as a Nurses Aid.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a Certified Nurses Aid for Olsten Health Care in Chelmsford.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Sodality and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Mary Ann enjoyed volunteering for the Meals on Wheels Program and outdoor activities, especially camping.
She is survived by four children, Michael D. Donovan, Jr. of Dracut, James P. Donovan and his wife Wendy of Denham Hills LA, Maureen E. Rich and her husband Michael of Dracut, and Kelly Ann Donovan of Tewksbury; her siblings, Catherine Massa and her late husband Eugene of Revere, Joanne Dobson and her husband Richard of Medford, John Morrison and his wife Jean of Colebrook, NH. She also leaves 7 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was the sister of the late Richard Morrison.
Calling hours are Friday, Feb. 19, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will held Saturday, Feb. 20, at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Oblate Novitiate, 486 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 or to the Tewksbury Food Pantry, 999 Whipple Rd., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
