WEBSTER – Ghandoura Alkhouri, 76, of Dubai, UAE, died Monday, February 14, 2016 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare University Campus after a short illness. Her husband of 25 years, George Garada , died in 1984.
She leaves 4 sons, Bashar Garada, Basel Garada, Bassam Garada & Bassim Garada, all of Dubai; 2 daughters, Janet Garada and her husband James Heath of Webster and Souher Garada of Dubai; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers, Shhada Alkhouri, Nicola Alkhouri, Naked Alkhouri, Shoky Alkhouri, Essam Alkhouri and Boutros Alkhouri; 4 sisters, Mary Alkhouri, Sabah Alkhouri, Rozett Alkhouri and Joulet Alkhouri; nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mrs. Alkhouri was born and raised in Damascus, Syria a daughter of Elias and Takla (Alkhouri) Alkhouri. She was in the United States visiting her daughter when she took ill.
Mrs. Alkhouri was a homemaker who devoted herself to raising her children.
The funeral will be held Saturday, February 20, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to the Church of Agea Sophia in Sednayah, Syria.
