Mr. Felix J. Kruczek, of Taunton, died Tuesday, February 16 in Morton Hospital following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Lea R. (Simard) Kruczek. He was born 93 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Walter and Katarzyna (Stefanik) Kruczek. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, Felix had been employed as Head Farmer and Groundskeeper for the Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as an ammunition handler in the European Theatre. Felix was an avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Bruins fan. He also enjoyed salt and fresh water fishing, and woodworking in his garage, where he made assorted furniture, wishing wells and swing sets. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
He leaves: 1 son: John J. Kruczek and his wife, Kathleen of Johnston, R.I.; a daughter-in-law: Wendy Kruczek of Berkley; 4 grandchildren: Dr. Kimberly Kruczek, Kelly Kruczek, Scott Kruczek and Bonnie Forsberg; 3 great grandchildren: Julie, Jacob, and Jasmine Forsberg, and several nieces and nephews. Felix was also the father of the late Stephen Kruczek.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will precede the funeral, Saturday, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Alzheimers’ Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, Ma., 02472.
