Obituary

Marvie Lee Harrison, age 93, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at his home in Coffeeville, MS. He was born October 6, 1922 in Coffeeville, MS to the late Lee and Susie McCammon Harrison. Marvie Lee served in the United States Army as an Automatic Rifleman during WWII where he received many medals for his service in combat, including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. Marvie Lee Harrison, age 93, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at his home in Coffeeville, MS. He was born October 6, 1922 in Coffeeville, MS to the late Lee and Susie McCammon Harrison. Marvie Lee served in the United States Army as an Automatic Rifleman during WWII where he received many medals for his service in combat, including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. He retired as a shipping supervisor for Rockwell International in Grenada, MS. Marvie Lee was a Mason and a member of First Baptist Church of Coffeeville where he served as a deacon.

Visitation is planned for Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Coffeeville, MS. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church immediately following the visitation at 1:00 pm with Bro. Greg Baker, Bro. Truman Scarborough, Rev. Charles Lipe and Rev. Larry Kilgore officiating. Burial will be in the Coffeeville City Cemetery.

Marvie Lee is survived by his daughter, Geneva (Richard) Allen of Oxford, MS; two grandchildren, Stephanie Park and John (Penny) Allen all of Oxford, MS; one great-granddaughter, Anna Grace Allen of Oxford, MS; his sister, Bessie Kilgore of Coffeeville; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Drucilla Koonce Harrison.
