Obituary

Richard E. Hogan died at the age of 79 after a long illness. Mr. Hogan graduated from Northborough High School and then enlisted in the Air Force in Lubbock, Texas. He served during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Hogan attended Texas Tech University and was also a graduate of Boston College with a B.S. in Business Administration.
He was an internal service auditor for Honeywell Information Systems. Mr. Hogan was married to Carol F. Lombardi of Franklin on September 17, 1966. They moved to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire in 1974 and to Concord, New Hampshire in 1983.
Together they owned several business, including the Staffordshire Inn & Restaurant, Rumford Travel & Cruises by Carol. Mr. Hogan developed Inter -Lakes Daycare Center in Meredith and facilitated the development of a Kindergarten at Holy Trinity in Laconia, New Hampshire.
He was a member of the Rotary Club of Concord, New Hampshire.
His interests were fishing, travel, antiquing, (especially clocks), music and dance. He had a great love for his family and held his friends dear.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Christine Brooks and Fiancé David McGrath of Pembroke, New Hampshire and Jeanine Hogan and her significant other Derek Pelletier of Bow, New Hampshire.
He is also survived by his sisters, Elinor Rowe and Maureen Wilber of Northborough.
He was the brother of the late Jacqueline Swift.
He is also the grandfather of Alysha, Felicia, Alexis and Delanie.
Richard is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Friday, February 19 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin, Mass at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View long Term Rehabilitation Facility, Concord, New Hampshire for their excellent care of Richard.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
