Obituary

John A Giardino, 90 of Franklin passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on February 14, 2016 after a brief illness. He was the husband of 69 years to Pauline (Reid) Giardino.

Mr. Giardino was born in Boston, MA, September 3, 1925, the son of the late Francesco and Concetta (Maggio) Giardino. After graduating from Jamaica Plain High School in 1944, John played several years of Semi-Pro Football and Baseball. John made Franklin his home in 1959 and spent 37 years of his career working in the construction supply industry for A.H.Harris & Sons.

John was a communicant of St Mary Church, a past member of the Knights of Columbus, and secretly gave the children of Franklin many years of enjoyment as the Ben Franklin Bank Santa Claus. John volunteered for nearly 20 years as a coach and past President for the Franklin Little League Baseball program.

Mr. Giardino is survived by his 9 children, John Jr. and his partner Debra Hicks of Franklin, Dawn Marie Giardino of Franklin, Francis Giardino and son –in-law David Robinson of Plymouth, Bettiann Cardoza and her husband Tom Cardoza of Foster RI, Paul and Sandy Giardino of Franklin, Michael and Carol Giardino of Franklin, Peter Giardino and his partner Carla Parsons of Franklin, Mary Huling and her Husband Jim Huling of Milford, and Gregory and Patricia Giardino of Franklin. Grampy was also extremely proud of his 23 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

John is survived by his brother Anthony and Emily Giardino of Florida, and sisters Joan Stocker of Woburn, MA and Elizabeth Stone of Saratoga, NY.

A private service for immediate family will be held.
