Obituary

Ann Simonitsch died peacefully with family by her side on February 8 at the age of 95. Born on September 12, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio; the daughter of Howard and Florence
Stark. She is preceded in death by her parents; her
sisters, Nancy and Mary Jo, her brother Dickie, and her
husband of 54 years, Paul.
She grew up in Riverside, Illinois where she attended college and was active in little theater.
Ann and Paul both served their country proudly during
World War II; she in the Woman’s Army Corp and he in the
U.S. Marine Corp.
After moving to Ventura in 1953 Ann became very active
volunteering. Following in the footsteps of her mother she
gave limitless hours to the American Red Cross. In addition
she gave much of her time to the YLI, VNA(Livingston
Memorial), and Olivas Adobe. She also served over 20 years
on the CMH Auxiliary. For 22 years Sears had Ann as a loyal
and hardworking employee.
Ann is survived by daughter JoAnn Wallace(Tim) of Ventura;
son Jim(Katie) of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter Mary
Worth(Guy) of Antioch; and loving grandchildren Stephanie,
Kendra(Cecil), Erin(Jamie), Jeff, Chad(Megan), Adam, Brian,
Brittany, Kimberly, and Taylor. Also Ann was blessed with 5
great grandchildren, Ethan, Auden, MacKenzie, Kinley, and
Avery. Close to Ann’s heart includes niece Jan and nephews
Scott, Robin, and Bruce all in Florida. Her family will lovingly
remember her feisty spirit and her award winning lemon
meringue pies.
Ann’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr.
William Speitel and his staff for their years of excellent care
and to Livingston Memorial, especially Janet Coleman RN.
Services for Ann will be held Tuesday, February 16th at
9:30 am at Our Lady of the Assumption, Ventura. Following
the services will be the burial at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park,
Ventura. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations
be made to the Ventura County chapter of the American
Red Cross. Ann has been entrusted to the care of the family
owned and operated JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME, 757 E. Main Street Ventura.
