Marge was always quick to find the humor in most any situation, took time to give wonderful and selfless advice to anyone who asked. She enjoyed gatherings and celebrations with extended family, friends and neighbors. In her earlier, more active days, she enjoyed the theatre, dancing and travel.
After her husband Joe, Marge's other true love in life was teaching. She often said that, "Children are my favorite people". She adored her profession so much that it was not uncommon, even after a long and obviously exhausting day for her to happily exclaim, "Sometimes I just can't believe I get paid to do this - something I enjoy doing so much"!!
Marge found true joy in music, whether it be playing the piano in the classroom, Irish tunes in her car, singing in the church choir or following Noel Henry's Band.
Marge laughingly admitted to enjoying a good manhattan every now and then. She found it especially funny and amusing to have once read the obituary of a lady whose family chose to include that particular information in the newspaper.
Even throughout her later declining years, as more and more of her physical and mental capabilities were continually being taken from her, Marge still somehow managed to be polite, kind and appreciative of everyone and anything they did for her; all the while keeping her sense of humor and us laughing right along with her.
Christine and Joe would like to express their gratitude to Marjorie's caregivers, Roxane and Tuesday, for their tireless work and dedication to caring for Marge during the past three years. They along with Boston Medical Center Geriatrics In-Home Care, various family members and neighbors, allowed us to honor our mother's wish to remain at home. Kudos to "Team Marge" - together we accomplished our mission !!
