Lisa J. Dube, 54, of Hudson, formerly of Marlboro, died on Sunday, Feb. 14th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester. She leaves her loving husband of 25 years, Steven P. Dube of Hudson.
Lisa was born in Newton, daughter of the late George and Ann (Danforth) Chaney. She was raised in Framingham where she attended local schools and was a 1980 graduate of Framingham South H.S. She later attended Beautician School and was a hairdresser locally for several years. She was a talented costume designer and eventually opened the YO-Momma-Designs Shop in Hudson which she owned and operated for many years. Lisa was a very courageous and determined individual despite her illness and was very active with the American Stroke & Heart Association.
Lisa’s passion in life was sewing and costume designing, and was only overshadowed by her love of family. She enjoyed designing costumes for her children and their friends for many special events including Halloween. She was always willing to assist others including designing costumes for the many activities and events at the former Saint Michael’s Grammar School and former Hudson Catholic High School. She always looked forward to the yearly summer vacations with family and friends at Hampton Beach, NH. The unconditional love she shared with her family and their loving dogs and her spirit of helping others, will be cherished by all who loved and knew her.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Amanda Dube of Arizona, Steven Dube, Cassaundra Dube and Devin Dube, all of Hudson. She is also survived by her two sisters, Kathy O’Loughlin and her husband Steve of Tewksbury, Cheryl Chaney of Worcester; her two brothers, Doug Chaney and his wife Linda of Ashland, Bobby Chaney of Pepperell; her mother-in-law, Elaine (Dugas) Dube of Hudson and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Chaney.
A funeral service and celebration of Lisa’s life will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18th at 12:00 noon at the First Church in Marlboro, 37 High St. Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlboro. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Wednesday, Feb. 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-¬Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
