Dorothy Florence (Himbaugh) Key 91, of Louisville, received her heavenly angel wings February 14, 2016. Surrounded by her family Dorothy passed peacefully. Born in Louisville, KY on March 2, 1924 to Edna and Harry Himbaugh, she attended Incarnation Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Key, Sr. “Pop”, her parents, twin sister Doris Himbaugh, sister Helen Blythe, brothers, James and Norman Himbaugh.
Survived by her children: Carlene Key Webb, Charlotte Key Ray (Charlie), Carl S. Key, Jr. “Butch” (Sandy), Lee Ann Gordon Potts (Tom); grandchildren: Kelly Ray, Chris Ray (Jo Ann), Tracy Ray (Dean), Greg Ray (Teresa), Allison Key Pitzer (Mike), James Key (Susan), Carla Webb Wallace; great-grandchildren, Jessica Cecil McDougale (Bradley), Zachary Cecil (Megan), Kristen Ray Priddy (Michael), Travis Ray (Jessica), Colin Ray, Alexandria Ray Shoemaker (Chris), Charli Ray, Madeline Scarborough, Gavin Wallace, Zane Pitzer, Elizabeth Key, Dakota Pitzer (In Heaven); 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy “Nana” was the matriarch of our family, and the center of our universe. She loved her family and extended family more than life itself.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
