Obituary

Marguerite “Maggie” B. (Blanchet) Fournier 89, of 400 Mendon Rd., formerly of Summit Ave., died Thursday, February 11, at the home of her grandchildren Brian and Sarah Fournier, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Roger “Digger” Fournier who was the love of her life. She was born in Woonsocket, the daughter of the late Ernest “Tom” and Florence (Allard) Blanchet. Maggie was a proud member of the North Smithfield PTA, the North Smithfield Band Aids, the Woonsocket Hospital Aides, a volunteer with RI ARC, a member of the choir and also a founding member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. She and Roger spent many happy summers camping with their family and friends in North Truro on Cape Cod.

Maggie had a great zest for life which she shared with Roger, her entire family, and all who knew her. She spent many years passionately involved in all of her children’s activities and interests including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, cadets, music lessons, art lessons, dance lessons, gymnastics classes, 4H, horse shows, band and much more – she was a great mother to her own children and to many others whom she took under her wing.

She is survived by two sons, Marc Fournier and Nan Conte of Andover MA, Jim Fournier and his wife Doreen of Danielson, CT, three daughters, Susan Cronin and her husband Chip of Wrentham, MA, Nancy Fournier and her husband Kim Levitch of Shelburne, MA and Louise Perry and her husband David of N.
